Rain Or Shine; 35 Denton Brings Even More Style to Our College Town

For those of you who missed out, this past weekend was Denton's annual musical festival appropriately titled, 35 Denton.  Between Hip Hop, Garage Rock, and Ethereal Electronica, all the musical genres were covered.  One attending the festival throughout the weekend might have seen Atlas Sound, Designer Drugs, The Hood Internet, Best Coast, The Raincoats, The Dum Dum Girls, or Gardens & Villa to name a few.  Luckily the dreary weather forecast for the weekend wasn't enough to stop the bands, nor the fans, from showing up and having a great time.

By Thursday evening, Denton square was buzzing with people in town for the shows.  I actually stopped into Circa 77, a local thrift shop on the Square, and met a group who had driven in from out of state and were shopping for some trendy jackets for the weekend as they had not expected the weather to be as cold as it was.  So it's obvious that regardless of the weather, festival attendees were still very much conscious of their wardrobe.  Naturally, this inspired this week's blog post, so below you'll find a few Festival Fashions that were spotted around Denton Square.

I love the tights and shorts combo.  It can sometimes be tricky to pull off, but both blazers here are exceptionally paired with the rest of the ensemble.

I'm a huge fan of the rolled up denim look.  It's very nostalgic of the 50's, but today it's a practical look when wearing flat boots or sneakers.

A lot of styles mimicked the overcast skies, as seen here in these stylish Shades of Grey.

These looks are all about bravery.  On the left, we see that matchy socks with collared tees can add just the right amount of color pop. On the right, Sporty meets Earthy with the biker shorts and a fringed scarf.

Sadly, the festival is over, but perhaps we'll see some of these fashions as the cool weather continues!
