What We're Wearing

With the continuation of cold weather comes the reiteration of Campus Classics as we look into what trends are pacing the sidewalks this week at UNT.

Moccasin boots and booties are being paired with our favorite old sweatshirts and flannels.

Embroidered scarves maintain their friendship with boots and blazers, as seen here with both a neutral palette (shown at left) and a hint of springtime (shown at right).

Exotic colors, such as poppy, make their connection with earth tones in casual dress.

Leather satchels add contrast to delicate lace and hosiery. We're making the risky movement towards black and brown combos, and doing a rather successful job.

So in the following months, keep an eye out for lighter denim and colored denim, as they seem to be making a more prominent appearance despite cloudier weather. Also keep those fringed scarves and circle-shaped shades for a 'Springier' look.

Beauty, Power, Love, Strength

Beauty is created in the clash of the ages through fashion, music, literature, film, and technology. Most inspiring to me is any form of art that utilizes the collaboration of past and present in order to reach an audience on an intimate level.   Below are three videos that accurately reveal true art through film, fashion, and music.  The first is a collection of this past year's most memorable movie sequences, all so incredibly inspiring in their depiction of love, loss, hope, and courage. The next advertises a denim collection by Ksubi in a beautifully captured three minute film. When it comes to fashion, I'm most inspired by garments that capture the beauty and aptitude of women. Strength is always attractive, and strong women should have powerful garments that make a statement about who they are, thus displayed in this Ksubi advertisement.  Continuing with the idea of strength, the last inspirational art form depicts powerful voices and whispery gowns in Warpaint's Elephants music video.
